President Trump was nearly murdered in Pennsylvania by an allowed assassin on July 13, 2024. Yes, the assassin was PERMITTED to take his shot and was then shot (silenced) by snipers.
America has vast, redundant intelligence gathering resources that capture anything and everything in the airwaves. Anyone professing surprise by Crooks’ action is ignorant or complicit.
An octogenarian Navy veteran with 25+ years of experience in National Security, I understand a few things. I’ve gathered, analyzed, reported, and acted on intelligence and threats. A member of the State Department, I’ve been involved in National Security, counterespionage, counter-terrorism, protective security (with adjunct work with the US Secret Service’s VIP protective service details (including training), etc.
From the day Donald J, Trump descended the Trump Tower escalator to announce his candidacy in 2016, he’s been targeted politically, economically, and legally; and now by an armed maniac who was permitted to act on his lunacy.
An American Embassy is a microcosm of the US government. Large Embassies house elements of fifty or more federal agencies involving every aspect of life. It hasn’t always been that way. The State Department has allowed this creeping growth, some of it beneficial, some detrimental.
I joined the Department of State in 1966 with my first assignment at the American Consulate in Istanbul. About five agencies were housed in the Consulate, one of them the DEA with agents involved in successfully interdicting the flow of illicit drugs. I learned that some DEA agents had possibly run afoul of civil rights laws and were being pursued by the FBI intent on prosecuting and jailing these capable DEA agents. So, the DEA protected and assigned resourceful, effective agents overseas continually until statutes of limitations ran out. One of these, in Istanbul was a friend.
Over time, the FBI established offices in Embassies where they could “keep an eye” on the DOD, DEA, CIA, etc. with a view to NOT help them, but to find faults to prosecute, etc. The more powerful the FBI became, the less effective those agencies became as their agents dreaded real or phony prosecution by the FBI. In effect, the FBI has aided and abetted our enemies by weakening our worldwide abilities to protect US interests.
My mother was a Minneapolis cop in the 1950’s. As I grew older, she talked to me about her work, etc. She never spoke positively about the FBI.
The FBI have been at the core of anti-Trumpism since 2016, working with Hillary, supporting “Russiagate” and every effort to thwart Trump, to break his bank, to hinder his presidency using lawfare, lies, illegal surveillance, lying to FISA courts, etc., propaganda, and more.
It is known that over recent years, the FBI has purged Christian, politically conservative agents to turn itself into a political tool of the Communist leadership in D.C. It’s good that the FBI is not a Constitutional agency, but the result of an Executive Order. Trump, with a signature on an Executive Order can erase the FBI and start anew.
In my studied opinion, the FBI, seemingly involved in diminishing Trump’s Secret Service VIP protection detail’s effectiveness permitted Crooks’ assassination attempt. IMHO, the FBI is likely aware of others who are similarly motivated and may be doing little to stop these characters, hoping one may succeed.
I’ve read a recent report about an Iranian financed Pakistani who showed up with a few thousand dollars intending to recruit Moslems to mount terror attacks. I suspect that this could be either an Iranian ruse that the FBI fell for or an FBI operation intending to tell all of us how good they are.
The FBI is not actively involved (yet) in trying to murder Trump, but they seem to not be working to protect Trump as they should. Nobody from the FBI should be allowed within a mile of Trump who needs more effective protection. I believe that a viable and effective protective detail could quickly be established with capable Special Forces retirees and others motivated to protect him. Wherever Trump or others appear in large outdoor venues, the USSS should work in tandem with sheriff deputies and/or local police to take control of all rooftops, hills. water towers, tall trees, etc.
The FBI and Secret service (among others) do very little to investigate themselves. This is glaringly apparent with the lax protection in Pennsylvania followed by bad excuses.
The US desperately needs to establish an independent Inspectors General corps who can and will investigate USSS, FBI, CIA, etc. shortcomings and put their criminal minded officials in jail – to balance the playing field.
